NEWTOWN, CT — MAY 27, 2026 — Michelle Embree Ku secured the endorsement of the Democratic Party last night to represent Connecticut’s 106th House District, earning strong support from Democrats across the district in Newtown at a well-attended caucus. The endorsement reflects growing momentum behind a candidate known for standing up for her community and delivering results on the issues that matter most.
“I’m proud to have the support of Democrats in Newtown — and I don’t take that trust lightly,” said Embree Ku. “For more than a decade, I’ve been on the ground working with families, advocating for better schools, supporting our seniors, and protecting public health. I’ve never backed down from doing the hard work, and I won’t start now. In Hartford, I will fight relentlessly for affordability, defend our public schools, expand access to healthcare, and make sure Newtown families are heard — and that they thrive.”
Embree Ku underscored the stakes facing local communities amid national uncertainty and division. “At a time when too many voices are being drowned out, Connecticut must lead with strength and purpose,” she said. “What happens in Hartford directly affects our lives here in Newtown. I will stand with this community, push back against policies that leave people behind, and fight for solutions that protect our values and move us forward.”
